Can you believe that springtime is right around the corner?! We actually had a COLD winter here in SoCal this year, which makes me all the more excited for the warmth of spring. One of the things that I often neglect is changing up my skincare routine to suit the season. What may make skin happy in the winter may not be what makes it happy in the warmer months. Today, I’ve rounded up 5 springtime skin care tips that will keep you looking fresh throughout the season!
1. Cleanse and Exfoliate
During the winter, dry and patchy skin can build up on your face due to the cold weather. The best way to combat this is by making sure you effectively cleanse and exfoliate. I recently discovered this Remington Facial Cleansing Brush, and it’s been working wonders!
1.Wet your face with water
2. Apply your favorite cleanser on to the brush
3. Press the “on” button and select 1 of 3 speed options
4. Move the brush in small circular motions on an area of your face
5. The brush has a 1-minute pulsing timer that will pause every 20 seconds to let you know when it’s time to move onto another area of your face
6. Rinse off the remaining cleanser, and say hello to beautiful skin!
I love the fact that this brush is rechargeable and lasts up to 30 uses in one charge! It’s also shower-proof, so you can easily add it into your daily routine!
The facial cleansing brush is 10X more effective versus manual cleansing. I find that my skin better absorbs essence, serums, and moisturizers after using it. My makeup also applies much smoother, leaving me with flawless looking skin! Be sure to visit Walmart or Walmart.com to grab one for yourself!
2. Lighten Up Your Moisturizer
During the winter, I usually use heavier creams and moisturizers to combat dry scaly skin. As spring approaches, it’s time to ditch the heavy creams and lighten up. Using heavier products on your skin in warmer weather can cause clogged pores and ugly breakouts! Instead opt for a light moisturizer with spf.
3. Prep and Prime
Unfortunately spring also brings one of my
good old friends: allergies. I’m talking about itchy/watery eyes, congestion, and lots of sneezing! A combo of these make a not-so-pretty end of the day makeup look. I find that using a primer before applying my makeup helps tremendously. It keeps my skin looking fresh all day, even when I’m not feeling my best.
4. Lighten Your Foundation
Springtime is the time to go for that no makeup makeup look, and let your skin breathe a little. Switch out full coverage foundations for lighter BB creams, CC creams and tinted moisturizers. My current favorite to use are BB pacts! I love the fact that they leave my skin looking fresh and natural. You can also take it with you everywhere, and pull it out whenever you need a touch up.
5. Get Hydrated
There’s no way around it! Hydrated skin is happy skin, so guzzle up that h20 for a beautiful spring glow! I always try to keep a water bottle with me on hand to get my daily intake.
