All opinions are mine alone. #MyRadiantLook #CollectiveBiasIt’s no secret that having a great nighttime routine can help you feel beautiful on the inside and outside. Being the extreme night owl that I am, I’ve always found it difficult to have a solid nighttime routine. I naturally love staying up super late to answer emails, work on blog posts, and edit photos. However, I always regret it in the morning when I struggle to get out of bed!
Today I’m going to walk you through 6 steps to a powerful nighttime routine. This routine will help you avoid the morning struggle, get a great night of sleep, and help you wake up with confidence.
STEP 1: Prep Your Teeth for a Radiant White Smile
A bright and white smile can help you take on the day with confidence. The best way to obtain this is by making sure that your pearly whites are happy and healthy. My current favorite toothpaste to use is Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste. What I love about this toothpaste is that it safely whitens the inside as well as the outside of your teeth. It is made with the dentist recommended ingredient, hydrogen peroxide and is enamel safe. This means that Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste can be used daily to help you feel beautiful both inside and out!
STEP 2: Set the Mood and Pamper Yourself
Dim the lights and bring out your favorite candles to set a relaxing mood. This will help you unwind and calm your mind after a long day. Along with this, take some time to pamper yourself. My favorite way is to slap on a face mask and listen to some soothing music.
STEP 3: Outfit Prep
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been late because I couldn’t decide on what to wear! You probably know that struggle when you try on dozens of outfits and hate everything in your closet. I usually end up leaving my room looking like a tornado hit my closet! The best way to avoid this fiasco is by prepping your outfit the night before. Not only will this allow you to have more time in the morning to get ready, but you’ll sleep better knowing that you have one less thing to worry about when you wake up. You’ll also look better by having more time to catch those extra zzz’s.
STEP 4: Get Inspired
I find that I lose a lot of sleep when I simply cannot turn my mind off. The best way to combat this problem is by writing down your thoughts before you sleep. I love writing lists of what I want to accomplish the next day, future goals, or quotes that inspire me. This allows me to get all of my thoughts organized on paper, so I can get a good night’s rest.
STEP 5: Hydrate
Staying hydrated has always been a big challenge for me. I often find myself waking up with dry skin and a super raspy voice from lack of properly hydrating the night before. Going without water for about 8 hours can have major negative effects on our bodies. I’ve been making an effort to drink lots of water or herbal tea a few hours before bed. This way I can wake up to supple skin and feel more refreshed in the morning.
STEP 6: Get in the Habit of Sleeping at the Same Time
If your alarm looks similar to mine, then you probably have a lot of trouble getting up in the morning. I feel your pain! I’m definitely not a morning person, so I usually end up hitting snooze over and over again! The best way to make mornings less painful is to get in the habit of sleeping at the same time every night. I’m still working on getting in the habit of doing this. It can be a big challenge, especially on the weekends when you want to stay up all night.
