On one of my many, many trips to my local craft store, I picked up a beautiful wooden star plaque. I knew that I could create a really awesome DIY project with it, but it just ended up sitting in storage for about a month! Does that ever happen to you guys too?
Well, I finally came up a genius (at least I think so) idea to create a DIY star message board! I’ve been seeing lots of DIY message boards on Pinterest this year. I thought that it would be suiting to do a Christmas themed one. You can even change up the message after Christmas and use it all through the year!
Step 1: Take some white acrylic paint and paint the entire wooden star plaque with a foam brush.
Step 2: Get your scrabble racks ready and decided how many you want to place on your freshly painted wooden plaque. I decided to just place two directly in the center. You also want to plug in your glue gun at this point to give it some time to heat up.
Step 3: Use your glue gun to stick the scrabble racks onto the wooden plaque.
Step 4: Now comes the fun part: adding the scrabble letters! I simply went with a classic Merry Xmas.
Step 5: The last step is to find the perfect spot for your beautiful message board and hang it up!
I had so much fun pairing my board with some of my other Christmas decor pieces!
I also switched it up by mixing both black and white scrabble tiles!
Hope you enjoyed this DIY and are having a holly jolly time during the holiday season 🙂
