DIY Christmas Wreath

Have you guys started shopping for Christmas yet? It seems like every year the stores are starting Christmas earlier and earlier! I’m usually guilty of waiting until the very last minute, shopping just days before Christmas. This year, I’ve decided to change it up and get an early start (it helps that online shopping is so easy and convenient). Along with early Christmas shopping, I’ve also pulled out all of my Christmas decorations, so that I can start covering my house in all things Christmassy! I want to inspire you guys to do the same, so I’m going to show you how to make this gorgeous DIY Christmas wreath today. It would be perfect to hang on your front door, welcoming Christmas carolers near and far. Okay, so maybe we don’t all get Christmas carolers, but making this wreath will surely get you in the Christmas spirit!

STEP 1: Clip small pieces of holly and attach them to your wreath using floral wire or a glue gun. I bought this beautiful wreath last year at Target from their Threshold Collection. It came with blue ornaments attached, but I simply ripped them off because I did not want to have a blue Christmas. Here are two similar wreaths that I found: Smith and Hawken Boxwood Wreath and Threshold Boxwood Wreath.

STEP 2: Taking a wire cutter, clip off the excess wire on each ornament, leaving just enough to attach it onto your wreath. I left about an inch of wire on each ornament. If you don’t have wire ornaments you can always attach your own wire onto any ornament or use a glue gun.

STEP 3: Take your ornaments and attach them onto your wreath. You can add as many or as little as you would like.

STEP 4: It’s time to add the best decor piece to your wreath; these cute felt bird ornaments! You can get these cuties right here! Clip off two pieces of floral wire about 3 inches long, then place your birdies on the wire. I know, I know it pains me too, but we must do it for the sake of Christmas! The wire should stay nicely in place since the birds are made of Styrofoam.

STEP 5: The last step is to place your birdies on the center of your wreath! This wreath also has a Styrofoam frame so the wire should stay put! Now your Christmas wreath is complete and ready to spread some Christmas cheer!

Hope you guys enjoyed this Christmas DIY post! I cannot wait to make more posts for you! Also, if you are planning on purchasing a wreath and other Christmas decorations from Target, don’t forget to sign up for a Target Red Card to save an extra 5% off your entire purchase and get free shipping on all online orders! I have a Red Card and I use mine all the time!
